Welcome to the portal page for the Chasing4Life Disaster Response Team (C4LDRT).  You may use the links at the left to access pages for our upcoming training summit, gear and apparel and general information.

THIS PAGE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

Over the years, the Chasing4Life Disaster Response Team has grown, shrunk and grown again.  As part of our revitalization project here at Chasing4Life, we have begun to recreate the team with new equipment, new people, new trainings and new passion.

Chasing4Life founder Eddy Weiss wrote in his book "The 5 Facet Plan" that "everyone has a gifting, which, if nurtured, becomes a skill".  The C4LDRT is built on the premise that these gifts and skills, when fit with education and passion can become a powerful force that can change the world and touch lives.

cathy.jpgOver the years, volunteers have come forward from different backgrounds, different walks of life, different religions and all with different interests.  The common denominator amongst them all is that when disaster strikes a community, their passion is in rescue, recovery and restoration.

The C4LDRT is comprised of volunteers from all over the country that have undergone training, have backgrounds in emergency response work, or have specialties in areas related to disaster response and br.jpgrecovery.  From Florida to Haiti, from North Carolina to Iowa, from Joplin to Malibu the team's members have responded to disasters around the world and it is our hope that they will continue to do so.

The team's work is a labor of love, and support for the team comes from sponsors like Baron Services, NUPLA Tools, HiViz, Inc. and FoxFury Lighting Solutions.  Team members provide much of their own gear, each member being unique because of their background and experience.  Team members are trained via online courses boat.jpgand training exercises.  Member backgrounds range from business management to fire and rescue, from animal caretaking to medical services. Every applicant to the team is considered not based on disaster response experience, but is interviewed with the goal of placing each new member according to their gifting and skill.

It is our goal to train volunteers according to their gifting, their skills and their interests. The team uses chey.jpgthe principles in the "5 Facet Plan", organizing and educating those that would be involved in hands-on rescue and recovery, shelter management, counseling and comfort, situational  assessment, crisis management, continuity, resource management and governmental agency procedures.

Are you looking for a way to involve your group in disaster response? Now is the time to contact us. So many times, when disaster strikes, we see groups attempt to get involved and they are turned away or their lack of connections hinder what their potential coulkd really be.  We would love to meet with you so we can guide you along in the processes and training necessary to safely respond in times of disaster!

We train church groups, youth groups, community organizations, other disaster response teams and individuals.  The purpose of this organization is to fill the gap in disaster situations whether it be overseeing volunteer intake for a community, assist in animal rescue, provide debris removal assistance, supply technicians for SAR or simply provide consultants during the different phases of the post-disaster environment.

Chasing4Life and the Chasing4Life Disaster Response Team is a certifying organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award; an initiative of the Corporation For National and Community Service.

Each year the C4LDRT holds two large training events. The Spring event is a 3 day intensive schedule of trainings of all kinds and the fall event (usually held the second weekend of October) is a massive Search and Rescue field exercise held for the purpose of training the team on how to work with outside entities, individuals and agencies.
